About Us
I grew up in Maryland riding horses since I could walk. I was an 'eventer' for many years. I lived and breathed horses. I worked at the local riding stable earning riding time - to me, it was the best place in the world to be! I moved on to hot walking horses at Pimlico Race Track - a teenage girl's dream. Dreams fade and teenage girls grow up but my love for horses never waned.
I met my husband in Alaska (he was in the Air Force, I was a government contractor). We moved to New Hampshire where we lived for 12 years. While in New Hampshire, I worked at a Trekhaner breeding farm, it was there that poor Doug realized that he was doomed to the life of a 'horse husband'.
We moved to Colorado from New Hampshire when Doug retired from the Air Force. Horses were a given, after-all, that's why we came to Colorado. He thought that I said I was going to have 'A' horse, I actually said that I was going to have "8" horses. I won! Several times over.
We have been married for 22 years now and have two sons. We all work hard to make our life on the ranch a happy and wholesome place.
Horses are a HUGE part of our life - we can't imagine our life without them and we enjoy sharing that passion with others.
